Standard Practice for Cleaning Labware Used in Organic Analyses
1.1 This practice covers using laboratory detergent and organic solvents to clean labware used in laboratories for preparing and analyzing samples for the content of organic chemicals.
1.2 Practice D5245 describes cleaning labware used in microbiological analyses. Practice D8457 describes cleaning labware used in metal and metalloid analyses.
1.3 If an ASTM test method has a different cleaning procedure specific for the analytes of concern in that method, the specific procedure in the test method takes precedence over this practice.
