CSA ISO 5362:14 (R2019)

CSA Preface This is the first edition of CAN/CSA-ISO 5362, Anaesthetic reservoir bags , which is an adoption without modification of the identically titled, ISO (International Organization for Standardization) Standard 5362 (fourth edition, 2006-06-01). For brevity, this Standard will be referred to as “CAN/CSA-ISO 5362” throughout. This Standard was reviewed for Canadian adoption by the Standards Mirror Committee to ISO TC 121, under the jurisdiction of the CSA Technical Committee on Perioperative Safety and the CSA Strategic Steering Committee on Health Care Technology and Systems, and has been formally approved by the Technical Committee. This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group. Scope This International Standard specifies requirements for antistatic and non-antistatic reservoir bags for use with anaesthetic apparatus or lung-ventilator breathing systems. It includes requirements for the design of the neck, size designation, distension and, where relevant, for electrical resistance. This International Standard includes requirements for both single-use and reusable bags. Reusable bags are intended to comply with the requirements of this International Standard for the recommended product life. This International Standard is not applicable to special-purpose bags, for example bellows and self-expanding bags. Bags for use with anaesthetic gas scavenging systems are not considered to be anaesthetic reservoir bags and are thus outside the scope of this International Standard.
